What is a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD)
The LVAD maintains the ability of the heart’s main pumping chamber (left ventricle) that is too weak to work on its own. Unfortunately, boosting the left ventricle knocks the right ventricle out of balance.

The overloaded right ventricle is unable to adapt, resulting in Right Heart Failure (RHF) in 10-40% of LVADs. All valvular solutions have failed, highlighting the need to protect both the valve and the ventricle. This is Mitre’s expertise.
